Nighttime Routine Clock

Nighttime Routine Clock

It's not worth the fight. Fighting with your little one about what time it is (time for baths, time for bed, etc.) is an endless battle. And what's worse is they can't tell time yet anyway! So they just keep saying 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes….

Our family created this night time routine clock and colored it so that our toddler knows a little more about what time it "really" is: Dinner, Bath, Books & Bedtime.

Making a routine schedule for kids

MATERIALS

  • Clock

  • Markers

  • Paper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Color in the times that fit your home schedule.

  2. Color code it and draw simple pictures and text onto the poster board.

  3. Display in your child's room so they can easily see it!

  4. Practice using it regularly, and also try teaching them how to tell “real” time along with it. Now when we need to reference what time it is, we ask her to look at the clock on the wall and tell us what we are supposed to be doing. If it’s in the “blue” we need to be quietly listening to books, and no more procrastinating! :)
